Can I configure tax exemptions for specific categories?
This Article is for stores running on Solo plan or higher
If you have updated your GSTIN details, then while creating a category, there is an option to add your tax information for each category.
Step 1. Log in to your Commmerce’s Admin Panel by entering the Registered mail ID and Password. To log inclick here
Step 2. You can either click on Dashboard on the left side of the admin panel and then click on Add category (as shown in “1” ) or you can click on Catalog on the left side of the admin panel and then click on Categories (as shown in “2”).
Step 3. Click the "Add category" button on the right side (as shown in “3”). A new category will be created.
Step 4. In the Category page you will see the TAX section in that you can select based on your business need.
Use Global Settings: The system is set to apply the default store-wide tax settings (configured in the Store details tax settings).
Use Custom Settings: If selected, it allows you to define a unique tax rule for this specific category.
Use Skip Adding Tax: If selected, no tax will be applied to this item, regardless of global settings. It will give you an option to Uncheck to add Tax.
Step 5. Once you’ve updated your tax details, click the 'Save' button located in the top-right corner, as shown below.
