Can I use an existing domain with my Commmerce store?

1. Shall I use my existing domain or buy a new one for a different platform?

You can use your existing domain! There's no need to purchase a new one if you already have a domain registered.

You can even purchase a new domain from https://domains.commmerce.com and add the bought domain to your Commmerce store.
 

2. Which is better, '.com' or '.in' for my website? 

  • To have a global audience, you can go with '.com' for universal recognition.
     
  • If you are focusing on selling your products only within India, choose '.in' for local relevance.

3. Can I use a similar domain on more than one platform?

You cannot use the same domain on more than one platform. Maintaining consistency across platforms is important to build a strong brand presence.

Consider redirects or subdomains to ensure users are directed to the correct platform.
